The trust has 4 main projects:-
Diakonia, Helping Needy, Education to all, & Beams

MGAT Project Activities

PROJECT I:

Diakonia

As the name indicates "serve the poor and oppressed" is a project to serve the society. Every year considering the social issues and circumstances the trust selects a theme which needs to be cared and given attention. A project will be implemented to spread the awareness of the theme in the society. Questionnaire surveys will be conducted for identifying the situation in the locality and following that campaigning, awareness classes, road shows, street play, leaflets distribution, follow up support etc. will be provided.

Works under Diakonia:-

1. Food for all: Caring the needy (2009-2013)


MGAT has distributed adequate food materials monthly to 25 families according to the direction of the Maravanthuruthu panchayath.

2. Computer education (2009-2013)


MGAT has provided computer lab services along with TGM Vidyaniketan for empowering women in Maravanthuruthu Grama Panchayath by providing free computer education in various fields.

3. Caring and sharing (2009-2014)


MGAT has distributed clothing materials to the needy ones as directed by Maravanthuruthu Grama Panchayath during Onam.

4. Project "Learning disability awareness campaign" (2014-2015)


One of the major milestones in the field of social service activity was the conduction of survey and campaign on the topic ' Learning Disability' by Junior Red Cross cadets of TGM in coordination with WHO which was indeed very successful. TGM team has provided the follow up services for the identified students to excel in their life.

5. Project "Say No to Tobacco" ( 2015-2016)


In association with Thalayolaparambu police station, TGM has organized a survey, road show, street play on the Topic "Say No to Tobacco". Based on the survey, with the help of Thalayolaparambu police station, Maravanthuruthu Panchayath and Seethalayam Govt Homeo hospital Kottayam, we have provided the facilities for de addiction treatment for the identified persons, so that it will be a major relief for their suffering families.

6. Project "Junk food & Cancer" (2016-2017)


The project was inaugurated by Justice Narayana Kurup. The students conducted survey in Vaikom Taluk, and based on it they organized awareness campaign programme, street play road show etc. As part of this the team from TGM Vidyaniketan & MGAT trust visited the pediatric oncology inpatients in Regional Cancer Center, Trivandrum. MGAT bought the needed items for them as a Christmas and New-year gifts.

7. Project "Mental Happiness" (2017-2020)


The project 'Mental Happiness' was successfully held giving importance to a stress free life, illness related to stress, measures to get rid of mental stress etc. and following that street plays and awareness campaigns were conducted. Under the auspices of TGM, MGAT provided the Street plays, Under the auspices of TGM MGAT provided the amenities for the students and parents through yoga, meditation aerobics counselling classes etc.

8. Facing together Covid 19 Pandemic (2020-2022)


TGM platform was used by students, parents and grandparents in continuation of Mental happiness Project for sharing and exhibiting their hidden talents and self-awareness skills. TGM has paid a tribute to the excellent humanitarian services done by the medical team all over the nation through a dramatic presentation.
During this pandemic chaotic situation, we realized that it was a challenge to our brothers in abroad who were viewed with negative thoughts of society. As a remedy, TGM portrayed a drama/skit which enabled to spread the message of accepting them with our heart and soul.

PROJECT II:

Helping Needy

As the word indicates, the project emphasizes on providing financial support to the sufferers in our locality. It is a project in which the Human touch becomes Divine touch. By the grace of the Almighty God, MGAT Family members could collect various sources to help the needy with the support of the trust. Through the tithe of our students and humble help from the management the trust could give aids to palliative care unit and medical assistance such as lifesaving surgeries, bone marrow transplantation for the treatment of Thalassemia major, intestinal ulcer, shingles herpes zoster, house construction, marriage of the poor ones, gifts to RCC oncology patients in and around MGAT every year. With the showers of blessings and rewards of the Almighty God, the associative continue this venture for ever and ever.

Works under Helping Needy:-

1. Charity fund- Curing the sick (2009-2013)


a) With the cooperation of MOSC Medical College Kolenchery, MGAT conducted Medical Camps, cataract surgeries for more than 200 patients and distribution of spectacles for more than 400 people.
b) MGAT organized medical camps in various departments viz. ENT, Ortho and General medicine for the welfare of the people. The trust has provided free treatment and necessary surgeries.

2. Charity fund –palliative care (2013-2014)


TGM Vidyaniketan, along with a contribution from the trust, has transferred a fund to the needed person or group in the society. As part of this, in the year 2013, the trust has handed over the fund to the palliative care in Maravanthuruthu Panchayath.

3. Charity fund -- Curing the sick (2014-2015)


As part of the charity activities in the year 2014 ,the trust have handed over the fund to one of the natives of Maravanthuruthu Panchayath. She was seriously affected by shingles herpes zoster and she was from a poor family and the only earning member for the family. She had to take care of her two daughters' education also.

4. Charity fund- Build a house ( 2015-2016)


In the year 2015, the trust has handed over the fund to a young man who was financially poor and without a house of his own. . He was the only earning member of the family consisted of 6 members and only 2 cent of land in his name. The fund was helpful for him to build a house of his own.

5. Charity fund - Curing the sick (2016-2017)


In the year 2016, the charity fund was handed over to lady of Maravanthuruthu Panchayath who was seriously affected by intestinal ulcer and was needed for an emergency and brought her back to life.

6. Charity fund- Flood relief fund (2017-2018)


MGAT provided TGM Vidyaniketan as a shelter for those who were affected by flood during 2017 flood and contributed to Chief Minister's flood relief also. Thank the Almighty.

7. Charity fund- Marriage of daughter ( 2018-2019)


As part of the in the year 2018 the trust have handed over the fund to native of Vaikom, who was financially poor. The charity fund handed over to him to help him for his daughter's marriage.

8. Charity fund- Curing the sick (2019-2020)


As part of the in the year 2019 the trust have handed over the fund to a poor man, who met with an accident. The charity fund handed over to him to help him for life saving emergency surgery.

9. Charity fund- Covid 19 Pandemic ( 2020-2021)


As part of the in the year 2020 the trust have handed over the fund to domain care center of Maravanthuruthu Panchayath for buying food materials for Covid patients.

10. Charity fund- Curing the sick( 2021-2022 )


In the year 2021, the trust has handed over the fund to 5year old girl from poor family in Thalayolaparambu for her bone marrow transplantation for the treatment of thalassemia major.

PROJECT III:

Education to all

The project 'Education to all' has been started in the year 2009 and it aims for education to each and every one. The main activities conducted under this project are fee concession to the meritorious ones, scholarships for intelligentsia by MGAT etc. With the help of MGAT, TGM stretched out a hand of help for more than 150 students of financially distorted in in the year 2020-21 & 2021-22 to continue their online education in TGM Vidyaniketan. This venture was initiated by TGM Management and staff.

PROJECT IV:

Beams

The project 'Beams' has been started in the year 2017 in the aim of providing quality training for students, teachers and parents. As the name indicates, it aims to help the students develop skills and abilities that support their growth and prepare them for the future. It is also beneficial for teachers as well to bring the latest know- how from each respective field of learning. Career guidance, counselling, motivation, subject orientations, software skills, 21st century skills, character building, health education etc. were conducted for students. Professional development, classroom teaching , subject orientations etc. were conducted for teachers and parenting, 'student and health' etc. were conducted for parents also. Overall ,more than 50 training programs in a year will be organized under this project by TGM Vidyaniketan.
